Neither of us are new to the whole Internet concept, we joined the web-mania about 7 years ago, so we are both familiar with how to get around and so forth. However, I was skeptical and apprehensive about the whole idea of making money online. Nevertheless, I went along with Tara, mainly because I wanted to eat dinner that night and I knew if I disagreed, I most likely would be receiving my dinner from some kid at a drive-thru window and the topic of conversation would be, "you want fries with that?"

So I conceded to hear her out, after all, Tara is a smart woman and she loves to work. As we sat down to a meal of succulent roast beef and baby carrots sauteed in butter with quartered potatoes swimming in chives and sour cream, (so delicious!), Tara explained that since she was laid off the previous month, she had spent some time online doing research on new jobs. She continued how she had come across a few blogs that explained how people are making money online even in this weak economy. I listened intently as I scarfed down the last savory morsel of roast beef, (see, I told you it was better to agree with her, Big Macs don't come this close to heaven).

Tara went on, further explaining how she had purchased a make money online business kit that included a step-by-step manual, a few software programs, and some educational tips on making money online. She told me how the ebook explained that she could make money by operating a website about what she loved to do, with practically no additional expense and the potential to make several hundred dollars per month. I was puzzled now, as Tara took away my dishes and brought me a fresh cup of coffee with a large slice of chocolate ice cream cake.

"A website?" I asked. "Oh yes, you know how I love to cook and prepare elegant meals?" she replied. Do I ever, I thought. "Well, I just took my love of cooking and baking and created a recipe website, where I showcase my fancy recipes."

"Okay honey, but how do you make money?" I was stumped. "Oh, I have links on the page that go to products or advertisers, and I get paid from them for hosting their links on my webpages" "Really?" I stuttered in surprise "Then how do people find you? Don't you have to advertise, and doesn't it cost you money?"

"Ha ha!" Tara giggled, "No, I don't pay to advertise, the online money manual explained how to get free advertising and the software programs do most of that work for me. So, I spend an hour or two each day repeating all the little secrets in the money making manual and viola! I make money. As a matter of fact the website I bought the money making course from has full support for any questions I have"

Money? I thought for a moment, dare I ask? I don't want to insult Tara, since she is so excited. Okay here goes, "Honey how much are you making?" I winced hoping she did not detect any sarcasm.

"Not much" she replied "so far this month I have made about $617.00, umm you didn't think your salary paid for that prime roast with all the trimmings and that sinfully delicious dessert did you?" she smirked proudly.

"Okay sweetheart, you got me there, now let me take a look at this website and the manuals, I just might have an interest in a job change soon!"
